Escaped From Prison 35 Years Ago…Arrested Last Week…

Barbara Corley (above), is one BAD OLD LADY!!  She escaped the Detroit House of Corrections on April 23rd 1973!!! ‘73! And was caught Last Week!  Corley, 24 back then, 59 now, was convicted of armed assault with intent to rob, writing bad checks, and carrying a concealed weapon.  She was facing 2 to 11 years in prison, but decided to escape and start a new life in South Carolina with her husband (her house is pictured above).  She used many different names and had her own flower business at one time.  …K, really?!, if you can escape from prison, open a business, live comfortably, and not be caught for 35 years…then you can stay out as far as I’m concerned!  You can’t even say she was really on ”the run.”  …Oh yeah, and her neighbors said “She Was A GREAT NEIGHBOR!”  Hmm… now that I think about it…there is an 80 year old couple across the street from my house…i always wondered how they could afford all those Christmas lights every year…Gotta Go! I’m Calling The Police!…  Full Story Here

Phil Jackson’s Greatest Athlete He Ever Coached Is!?!

If you’re thinking that picture is there to be funny, it definitely is not!  When 9-time NBA Championship Winning Coach, Phil Jackson was asked, who was the greatest athlete he ever coached, Phil said, ”Dennis Rodman, he could play a 48-minute game and play the 48th minute harder than he played the 1st minute of the game.”  Not Kobe, Jordan, Pippen, Shaq, or Toni Kukoc (Kukoc was the man and you know it people).  But Dennis ”I wear wedding dresses to book signings” Rodman.  Though I am shocked, I am not mad about this at all. Quite Happy Actually!  Because I was a huge Rodman fan and I still have a poster of Dennis on my wall at home.  So, in honor of this announcement I am going to break out my Dennis Rodman T-shirt with the Hair that changes colors (green, red, or yellow) when the sun hits it! …i really hope i can find that shirt…peace!  Don’t Believe This Story? It’s Right Here!

You Can Go To Jail For OverDue Library Books?!

You know you’re from a small town if…You Went To Jail For OverDue Library Books.  Well, thats what happened to Heidi Dalibor (above), of Grafton, Minnesota last week.  After the library sent out 2 notices that were ignored by Dalibor to bring back ”Angels and Demons” and ”White Oleander, a warrant was issued for her arrest.  She was then taken from her homearrested, cuffed, and fingerprinted for $201 in overdue library books.  Talk about a justice system that has NOTHING TO DO!!  This could happen in Brooke County no doubt…speaking of which I think I still have “Cat In The Hat” from 1990.  Shit! Let me get to the library before you see me on the 6 o’clock news…Peace!…

It Is What It Is… (Tha Weekly Ramble)

Barack Obama has chosen Joe Biden to be his Vice President.  I myself wanted the “Dream Ticket” (Hilary Clinton), but I’m not running for President, so who am I to talk about the mans VP choice, i just hope its the right one.  But, the reason i’m writing this post today is because I do have one HUGE problem with Mr. Obama and his campaign. The Thrill of Victory and The Agony of Defeat (Part 3 of 3)

While writing the 3rd and final installment of The Thrill of Victory and The Agony of Defeat, I realized that I could go a bunch of ways.  There was Gary Russell, the American boxer who didn’t make his weight at the final weigh-in before competition, or Tyson Gay, the American track star that went to the games as the favorite for 3 gold medals and left with nothing.  But instead I chose to post a story (written by Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports) that exemplifies why the Olympics are so special.  Here’s the inspirational story of Samia Yusuf Omar (above), a sprinter, from the poor, war-torn, country of Samalia.  IF YOU’RE GOING TO READ ANYTHING ON MY BLOG, PLEASE READ THIS!!> The Olympic Story We Never Heard…

The Thrill of Victory and The Agony of Defeat (Part 2 of 3)

The Mens 110 meter Hurdles at the Beijing Olympics were won by Dayron Robles of Cuba, in front of 92,000 people at “The Birds Nest”.  Great moment right?  For Robles definately, but for the billions of people watching in China…that moment was meant for their hero Liu Xiang (above). Read more »
