D.D.’s Thoughts On College Football : Week 7 & 8

Ok, the first rankings of the college football season are out!  The BCS STANDINGS!! The season has now begun it’s time for non-stop BCS bitching for the next month and a half!  Honestly I’m pumped because it has taken some attention away from presidential election.  Anyhow, the last two weekends have been exciting, heartbreaking, and shocking, but that’s why we love college sports right?!  This weeks 10 thoughts will begin with a letter to my favorite week 9 team and coach…Joe Pa & Penn State!

1. Dear Penn State, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WHIP OHIO STATE’S ASS!!  I cannot have Ohio State ruin another great bowl season by being in the National Championship game!  It just can’t happen!  Those punks from Columbus had nerve to look good last weekend and that makes me sick!  But I know your great offense will do the trick!!  Well at least I hope, because i am becoming a jinx when I give teams my big endorsement!  Sorry Mizzou! (but more on that later).  JUST WIN PENN STATE!!
2. Texas!  Wow, Colt McCoy doesn’t just have the best name in college football he now is the best QB in the country, and making great teams look stupid.  But if Colt has a set back game, I don’t think the rest of Texas’ team can win.  They have 3 tough games to go and this matchup with OK State on Saturday should be very good!
3. NATE DAVIS AND BALL STATE ARE STILL KILLIN’ IT!!  #20 IN THE BCS POLL!!
4. Michigan lost to Toledo?!  Yep, 13-10, Ball State beat Toledo 31-0 the week before.  Rich Rod will look back on this next year when Michigan is winning a BCS bowl!  Yeah, I’m from West Virginia and I Said that Shit!!  GO BLUE!
5. If Texas Tech, can get through the next 4 games of their schedule (Kansas, Texas, OK State, Oklahoma, and probably Missouri in the Big 12 championship game), just give them the national title on December 6th!
6. Big East Rundown:  South Florida will win the Big East, although Pitt looks nice, UConn isn’t good enough…again this season, & WVU can’t play bad all season can they?!
7. The Blue turf Smirfs of Boise State are at it again, their QB is solid, Ian Johnson is still running over people for Touchdowns, the rest of their schedule is weak, and their ranked #13 in the BCS.  Their could easily be an Oklahoma vs. Boise State rematch in a major bowl!!  Oh the possibilities!
8. While I just sucked up to Boise State, the best non-BCS team is TCU, they will become the first 1-loss, non-BCS conference team to go to a BCS Bowl.  They steam rolled BYU and their “potent offense” and their only loss is to Oklahoma.  In a couple weeks they play Utah, if they get past them, I’ll be routing for the Horned Frogs in January!
9. I hope that during Notre Dame’s bye week, they learned that their are 4 quarters in a football game, and you must play all 4 of them to win.  NOT JUST THE FIRST 2…THEN SUCK!!
10. USC beat Washington State 69-0!  I’m Not Sure If I Should Say “Really?!” or “OMG Are You Serious” (you must watch SNL’s Weekend Update to Get That).
